Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 cups grapes (wash and remove stems) Ensure grapes are thoroughly dried before dipping.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup corn syrup
  • food coloring (optional) Add to syrup for color before coating.

Method

Preparation
  1. Rinse the grapes thoroughly under cold water and remove any stems. Pat them dry using a clean kitchen towel—moisture can cause the sugar not to stick properly.
Making the Candy Coating
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the water, sugar, and corn syrup over medium heat. Blend until the sugar is dissolved completely. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil without stirring.
  2. Allow the mixture to boil until it reaches the hard crack stage, which is approximately 300°F (150°C).
  3. If you want to add food coloring, this is the time! Just drop in a few drops and stir quickly to combine.
Coating the Grapes
  1. Once your syrup reaches the right temperature, carefully dip each grape into the syrup, ensuring they’re thoroughly coated. You can use a fork or skewer to make this easier.
  2. Place the coated grapes on a parchment-lined baking sheet to cool. The candy shell will harden as they sit.
Serving
  1. Once cooled, your candied grapes are ready to serve!

Notes

Ensure all ingredients are Halal compliant. Store in an airtight container at room temperature. Best enjoyed within 1-2 days. Avoid refrigerating to keep candy coating from becoming sticky.
