Preparation
- Rinse the grapes thoroughly under cold water and remove any stems. Pat them dry using a clean kitchen towel—moisture can cause the sugar not to stick properly.
Making the Candy Coating
- In a medium saucepan, combine the water, sugar, and corn syrup over medium heat. Blend until the sugar is dissolved completely. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil without stirring.
- Allow the mixture to boil until it reaches the hard crack stage, which is approximately 300°F (150°C).
- If you want to add food coloring, this is the time! Just drop in a few drops and stir quickly to combine.
Coating the Grapes
- Once your syrup reaches the right temperature, carefully dip each grape into the syrup, ensuring they’re thoroughly coated. You can use a fork or skewer to make this easier.
- Place the coated grapes on a parchment-lined baking sheet to cool. The candy shell will harden as they sit.
Serving
- Once cooled, your candied grapes are ready to serve!
Notes
Ensure all ingredients are Halal compliant. Store in an airtight container at room temperature. Best enjoyed within 1-2 days. Avoid refrigerating to keep candy coating from becoming sticky.
