Ingredients
  

Cake Base
  • 1 box chocolate cake mix Ensure it is Halal compliant.
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 pieces eggs Use fresh eggs for best results.
Toppings
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup crushed graham crackers Can substitute with sweetened coconut flakes.
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts Optional.
  • to taste frosting Optional, chocolate frosting pairs well.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix on low speed until smooth, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Gently fold in the mini marshmallows, chocolate chips, crushed graham crackers, and optional nuts.
  4. Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line with parchment paper, then pour in the batter and spread evenly.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan before frosting, if desired.
Serving
  1. Slice into squares and serve immediately, watching for smiles from family members!

Notes

Store Camping Cake in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze for up to 2 months. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight and warm in the microwave for 10-15 seconds before serving.
