Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 box cake mix (yellow or chocolate)
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup toffee bits
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup nuts (optional) Use nut-free chocolate chips for a nut-free version.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. Combine melted butter, cake mix, and egg in a mixing bowl. Stir until the mixture is well combined and there are no dry patches.
  3. Fold in the toffee bits and, if desired, the nuts until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  4. Transfer the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly using a spatula.
  5. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top, pressing them into the batter slightly.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  7. Cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then carefully lift the parchment paper to cool completely on a wire rack. Cut into bars once cooled.

Notes

To keep your Cake Mix Toffee Bars fresh, store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days. You can also refrigerate them for a week or freeze them for up to 3 months. For reheating, simply place them in the microwave for a few seconds to regain that melty chocolate goodness and soft texture—it will be like enjoying them fresh out of the oven.
