Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- Cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar in a mixing bowl until it’s smooth and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Mix in the vanilla extract to enhance the flavor.
- Sift together the all-purpose flour, matcha green tea powder, and salt in a separate bowl to ensure there are no lumps.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the butter mixture, mixing on low speed until combined and a soft dough forms.
- Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
Baking
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of the dough and roll them into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie for spreading.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
To keep your cookies fresh, store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or freeze for up to three months. Reheat in a preheated oven to regain crunch.
