  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar in a mixing bowl until it’s smooth and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Mix in the vanilla extract to enhance the flavor.
  4. Sift together the all-purpose flour, matcha green tea powder, and salt in a separate bowl to ensure there are no lumps.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the butter mixture, mixing on low speed until combined and a soft dough forms.
  6. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
Baking
  1. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of the dough and roll them into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie for spreading.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  3. Let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

To keep your cookies fresh, store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or freeze for up to three months. Reheat in a preheated oven to regain crunch.
