Buttery Bacon Cheddar Biscuits: A Delicious Treat to Savor!

Imagine biting into a warm, flaky biscuit with a buttery exterior that melts in your mouth, bursting with cheesy goodness and a hint of savory flavor.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter cold and cubed
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup chopped cooked bacon substitute with any preferred toppings or leave it out!

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  • Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir until well mixed.
  • Cut in the Butter: Add the cold, cubed butter to the flour mixture. Using a pastry cutter or your hands, cut the butter into the flour until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Add Cheese and Bacon: Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and cooked bacon until evenly distributed.
  • Mix in the Buttermilk: Gradually pour in the buttermilk, stirring until a soft dough forms.
  • Shape the Biscuits: Turn the dough onto a floured surface and gently knead it a few times, about 5-6 times. Pat it into a 1-inch thick rectangle, and cut out biscuits using a round cutter or a glass.
  • Bake: Place the biscuits on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown on top.
  • Serve Warm: Enjoy the biscuits warm, straight from the oven, perhaps with a spread of butter or your favorite jam.
