Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a rectangular baking pan (about 9x13 inches) with butter or line it with parchment paper.
- In a saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter.
Mixing
- In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition.
- Incorporate the vanilla extract and mix well.
- In a separate bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Slowly add to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
Baking
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 25–30 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick; it should come out with a few moist crumbs.
Cooling and Serving
- Let the brownie cake cool in the pan on a wire rack. Once cooled, slice into squares and serve.
Notes
For dairy-free, substitute with coconut oil or dairy-free butter. Check the cake earlier than the suggested baking time for ultra-fudginess. Avoid overmixing to keep the chewy texture.
