Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats Use gluten-free oats if necessary.
  • 1 cup milk or dairy-free alternative Choose plant-based milk for a vegan option.
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar Or to taste; maple syrup can be used as a substitute.
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips Save some for topping.
  • Pinch salt

Method

Preparation Steps
  1. In a medium-sized bowl, mix together the rolled oats, cocoa powder, brown sugar, chia seeds, and a pinch of salt, ensuring the cocoa powder is evenly distributed.
  2. Pour in the milk (or your choice of dairy-free alternative) and add the vanilla extract. Stir well until all the oats are fully coated.
  3. Gently fold in the chocolate chips, saving a few to sprinkle on top later.
  4. Pour the mixture into serving jars or bowls and cover tightly. Refrigerate overnight (or for at least 4-5 hours) to allow the oats to soften.
  5. The next morning, stir the oats and add a splash of milk if you prefer a thinner consistency. Top with extra chocolate chips, fruits, or nuts as desired.

Notes

Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days in airtight containers. Reheat in the microwave for about 30 seconds if preferred warm. Customize with your choice of toppings and ingredients.
