Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan, or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Beat until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- Incorporate the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Add the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, alternating with the buttermilk. Mix until just combined.
- Carefully fold in the sliced peaches until evenly distributed.
Baking
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Serving
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack.
- Serve the cake warm or at room temperature, optionally topped with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
