Ingredients

Dry ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Wet ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened Can substitute with coconut oil for dairy-free option
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
Main components
  • 1 cup chocolate chip cookie dough Use quality chocolate chips for best flavor
  • 1 cup brownie batter

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chip cookie dough and brownie batter. Do not overmix; the marbled effect is key.
Baking
  1. Using a cookie scoop, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each.
  2. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 20 minutes or until the edges are set and the centers are slightly soft.
  3. Remove from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For perfect Brookies Cookies, ensure butter is softened, not melted. Enjoy warm by microwaving for 10-15 seconds or reheating in an oven.
