Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 cups broccoli, finely chopped fresh is always best
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded the star that makes everything gooey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs for that satisfying crunch
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese a touch of sophistication
  • 1 large egg to bind everything together
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder for that zesty kick
  • to taste Salt and pepper never forget to season
  • as needed Oil for frying for that golden colour

Method

Preparation
  1. Steam the finely chopped broccoli for about 3-4 minutes until tender but still vibrant green. Drain and let cool, then squeeze out excess moisture.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooled broccoli, cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until fully incorporated.
  3. With clean hands, take a small portion of the mixture and roll it into bite-sized balls, about the size of a golf ball. Place them on a tray lined with parchment paper.
Cooking
  1. Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium heat. Once hot, gently add the broccoli balls a few at a time, frying for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  2. Remove and place on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
Serving
  1. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
