Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 pieces fresh croissants Use your favorite type of croissant.
  • 4 large eggs Make sure they are fresh.
  • ½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or your favorite) Choose your favorite cheese.
  • 1 tablespoon milk Optional, for fluffier eggs.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Adjust to your preference.
  • 1 tablespoon butter or olive oil For cooking the eggs and toasting the croissant.
Optional Add-ins
  • as desired fresh spinach Adds color and nutrients.
  • as desired sliced tomatoes For added freshness.
  • as desired avocado For creaminess and healthy fats.

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by preheating your skillet over medium heat. If you’re using a non-stick pan, you may not need any oil, but a bit of oil or butter will add flavor.
  2. In a bowl, whisk the eggs with the milk, a good pinch of salt, and pepper until well combined.
Cooking
  1. Pour the egg mixture into the preheated skillet. Allow it to settle for about 30 seconds before gently stirring.
  2. Cook until the eggs are just set; you want them to be soft and creamy.
Assembly
  1. Slice your croissants in half lengthwise.
  2. Place the cooked scrambled eggs onto the bottom half of each croissant, sprinkle with cheese, and add any optional veggies you like.
  3. Place the top half of the croissant back on and return to the skillet, pressing gently. Cook for a minute on each side until the croissant is golden and the cheese is gooey.
  4. Remove from the skillet, slice in half, and serve warm.

Notes

Use fresh croissants for the best texture. Experiment with different cheeses or herbs for added flavor. To reheat, place in a toaster oven at 350°F for 10-15 minutes.
