Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples with 1/4 cup of brown sugar and 1 tsp of cinnamon. Spread the apples evenly in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the remaining brown sugar, all-purpose flour, rolled oats, and salt. Add the softened butter and crumble it together until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Pour the apple juice over the apples in the baking dish.
- Evenly sprinkle the topping mixture over the apples.
Baking
- Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and apples are tender.
- Let it cool for a few minutes, and serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or drizzle with caramel sauce.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the microwave or oven.
