Method
Preparation
- Remove the ribeye steaks from the fridge and let them sit at room temperature for 30 minutes.
- Pat the steaks dry with a paper towel and season both sides generously with salt and freshly cracked black pepper.
Cooking
- Heat a heavy skillet or grill over high heat until it’s scorching hot.
- Once hot, drizzle in olive oil and swirl it around to coat the pan evenly.
- Place the steaks in the pan and let them sear for 4-5 minutes without moving them.
- Flip the steaks and add butter and herbs to the pan. Spoon the melted butter over the steaks as they cook for another 4-5 minutes until they reach your desired level of doneness.
- Transfer the steaks to a cutting board, tent with foil, and let them rest for 5-10 minutes.
- Slice and serve your perfectly cooked ribeye steaks with your favorite sides.
Notes
For optimal flavor, seek out well-marbled steaks. Adjust cooking times using a meat thermometer for precision. Don't skip the resting stage for juicy results.
