Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 cups blueberries (fresh or frozen) If using frozen blueberries, ensure they’re slightly thawed.
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups bread cubes Day-old bread works great.
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon butter For greasing the baking dish.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter, coating the bottom and sides.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together the bread cubes and blueberries.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until fully combined.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the bread and blueberry mixture, gently stirring until everything is evenly coated.
Baking
  1. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and bake for 35-40 minutes or until the center is set and the top is golden brown.
  2. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing into squares.
Serving
  1. Serve warm with your favorite toppings.

Notes

For the best results, use day-old bread for better absorption of the egg mixture. You can substitute different types of berries or add nuts for extra texture. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days, reheating in the microwave or a warm oven.
