Ingredients

Dough and Cheese
  • 2 cups Pizza Dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup Ricotta Cheese
  • 1.5 cups Mozzarella Cheese (shredded)
Fillings
  • 1 cup Pepperoni (Halal)
  • 1/2 cup Bell Peppers (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup Onions (chopped)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp Italian Seasoning
Cooking Ingredients
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil For cooking on the griddle
  • 1 cup Marinara Sauce (for dipping)

Method

Preparation
  1. If using store-bought pizza dough, let it sit at room temperature for about 20 minutes for easier handling. If making from scratch, roll it out to about 1/4-inch thickness and cut into rounds (about 6 to 8 inches in diameter).
  2. In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, bell peppers, onions, minced garlic, and Italian seasoning. Stir until well incorporated.
  3. Place a generous scoop of the filling on one half of each dough round. Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape.
  4. Press the edges together and use a fork to crimp and seal them.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your Blackstone griddle to medium heat and add olive oil.
  2. Place the calzones on the griddle and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the crust is golden brown.
  3. Serve warm with marinara sauce on the side for dipping.

Notes

Creative Fillings: Mix in chopped spinach, mushrooms, or Halal chicken for added flavor. Ensure not to overstuff the calzones to prevent spills while cooking. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to a month.
