Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, crumble and cook the Halal breakfast sausage until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Once the sausage is browned, stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring until the flour coats the sausage. Gradually whisk in the milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook until the mixture thickens, approximately 3-5 minutes.
- Cut the biscuit dough into quarters and set aside.
- In a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, spread the biscuit pieces evenly across the bottom. Pour the sausage gravy over the biscuits, ensuring they are fully covered.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese over the top if desired.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden and the gravy is bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C). Add a splash of milk to the gravy if needed.
