Main Ingredients
  • 1 package 1 (16 oz.) package of refrigerated biscuits
  • 1 lb 1 lb. of sausage Use either pork sausage, turkey sausage, or a plant-based option.
  • 2 cups 2 cups of milk
  • 1/4 cup 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp 1 tsp of garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup 1 cup of shredded cheese (optional) Try cheddar, pepper jack, or your favorite cheese.
  • Chopped green onions for garnish (optional)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned, crumbling it well while cooking.
  3. Once cooked, stir in the flour and cook for about a minute. Gradually pour in the milk, stirring until it thickens (about 3-5 minutes). Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. While the gravy thickens, cut the refrigerated biscuits into quarters.
  5. In a greased baking dish, layer the biscuit pieces and pour the sausage gravy over them. Optionally, sprinkle cheese on top.
  6. Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown.
  7. Garnish with chopped green onions if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

For storing, keep leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days or freeze for longer storage. Reheat in the oven or microwave.
