Ingredients

Pizza Base
  • 1 package refrigerated biscuits
Meat and Gravy
  • 1 pound beef sausage Can substitute with chicken or turkey sausage for a lighter option.
  • 2 cups sausage gravy
Toppings
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced bell peppers Optional
  • 1/2 cup sliced green onions Optional

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Open the package of refrigerated biscuits and separate them. Using a rolling pin, flatten each biscuit until it’s about ¼ inch thick. Arrange the flattened biscuits on a greased baking sheet, forming a circular base.
Cooking
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the beef sausage until browned and fully cooked, about 8-10 minutes. Break it into crumbles as it cooks.
  2. Pour the sausage gravy over the cooked beef sausage in the skillet, stir well until combined and heated through. Remove from heat.
Assembly
  1. Spoon the sausage and gravy mixture evenly over the biscuit crust. Sprinkle the cheddar cheese on top, and add optional toppings if desired.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 20-25 minutes, until the biscuits are golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  3. Allow to cool for a few minutes, then slice into wedges and serve warm.

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze individual slices wrapped in plastic wrap for up to a month. Reheat in the oven or microwave when ready to serve.
