- In a medium saucepan, combine the maple syrup, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir to mix well.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat. Keep stirring until the mixture starts to simmer, which should take about 5 minutes.
- Once you see the bubbles, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for another 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Check for a slightly thicker texture; it should coat the back of a spoon. For a thicker sauce, simmer a few minutes longer.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and allow the sauce to cool. It will thicken as it cools.
- Drizzle the sauce over your favorite dishes and enjoy!
Notes
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days. To reheat, warm gently either in the microwave or on the stove at low heat to maintain smooth consistency.
