Brownie Base
  • 1 cup unsalted butter Melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Optional

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan with non-stick spray or line it with parchment paper.
  3. Melt the unsalted butter in a large mixing bowl, then mix in granulated sugar until well combined.
  4. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Incorporate the red food coloring and mix until the batter is bright red.
  6. In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture.
  7. If using, gently fold chocolate chips into the batter.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
Baking
  1. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. Once baked, let cool completely before slicing into squares.
