Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 6 slices slices of bread (preferably day-old) Stale bread holds up better during rolling.
  • 3 pcs eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Butter for frying
  • Maple syrup for serving

Method

Preparation
  1. Flatten each slice of bread with a rolling pin.
  2. Mix together sugar, cinnamon, and any desired fillings in a small bowl. Spread the mixture evenly across each slice of flattened bread.
  3. Tightly roll each slice up from one end to the other. Secure with a toothpick if needed.
  4. Whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, and a touch of cinnamon in a large bowl.
  5. Dip each rolled bread into the egg mixture until fully soaked, allowing excess to drip off.
Cooking
  1. Melt a tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the rolls seam side down and fry until golden brown on all sides, usually about 2-3 minutes per side.
  3. Once cooked, serve warm with maple syrup or your choice of toppings.

Notes

For best results, use stale or day-old bread, and keep an eye on them while frying. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for a month.
