  • 4 cups bread, cubed Use stale or day-old bread for best results.
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Topping
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the milk, heavy cream, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Whisk until well mixed and creamy.
  3. Add the cubed bread to the mixture, letting it soak for about 15 minutes.
  4. Gently stir in the chopped pecans and the maple syrup until everything is coated evenly.
Baking
  1. Pour your mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
  2. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.
