  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 3 pieces carrots, sliced
  • 3 pieces potatoes, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce (Halal-certified)
  • 1 cup green beans, trimmed

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by chopping your vegetables and cutting the beef into manageable chunks.
  2. In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
Searing
  1. Add the beef chunks in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pot. Sear them for about 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
Cooking Aromatics
  1. In the same pot, add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté for about 2-3 minutes until the onions are translucent.
Adding Vegetables
  1. Toss in the sliced carrots, diced potatoes, and trimmed green beans. Stir and let cook for another 5 minutes.
Combining Ingredients
  1. Return the beef to the pot and pour in the beef broth. Sprinkle in the dried thyme, dried rosemary, Worcestershire sauce, and season with salt and pepper.
Simmering
  1. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and let it simmer for about 1.5 hours, or until the beef is incredibly tender.
Final Touches
  1. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
