Preparation
- Start by rinsing the broccoli florets thoroughly under cold water. Trim excess stems to ensure only the delicate florets are used.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the broccoli florets with finely chopped red onion.
- Toss in the raisins and sunflower seeds.
- If desired, add the optional halal chicken bits.
Dressing Preparation
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
Combine and Serve
- Pour the dressing over the broccoli mixture and toss until all ingredients are evenly coated.
- Serve immediately or chill for about 30 minutes to let the flavors meld together.
Notes
For a lighter version, substitute mayonnaise with Greek yogurt. Prepare ahead of time for better flavor development and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days.
