Ingredients
  

Salad Ingredients
  • 4 cups broccoli florets Rinsed thoroughly and cut into bite-sized pieces.
  • 1/2 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup sunflower seeds Add just before serving to maintain crunch.
  • 1/2 cup halal chicken bits (optional) For added protein.
Dressing Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise Can substitute with Greek yogurt.
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Start by rinsing the broccoli florets thoroughly under cold water. Trim excess stems to ensure only the delicate florets are used.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the broccoli florets with finely chopped red onion.
  3. Toss in the raisins and sunflower seeds.
  4. If desired, add the optional halal chicken bits.
Dressing Preparation
  1. In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
Combine and Serve
  1. Pour the dressing over the broccoli mixture and toss until all ingredients are evenly coated.
  2. Serve immediately or chill for about 30 minutes to let the flavors meld together.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute mayonnaise with Greek yogurt. Prepare ahead of time for better flavor development and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days.
