Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 1 pound beef (thinly sliced)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 bell pepper (sliced)
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 cup carrots (sliced)
  • 1 medium onion (sliced)
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce (halal)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon ginger (grated)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

Preparation
  1. Prepare all your ingredients. Slice the beef, bell pepper, onions, and carrots. Mince the garlic and grate the ginger.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over high heat.
  2. Once the oil is shimmering, add the sliced beef in a single layer. Let it sear for about 2-3 minutes, without stirring, until nicely browned.
  3. Toss in the bell pepper, broccoli, carrots, and onion. Stir-fry everything together, cooking for about 4-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender yet crunchy.
  4. Stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger, followed by the soy sauce. Mix everything to ensure the beef and veggies are well-coated. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Cook for another 1-2 minutes, until the sauce is heated through and fragrant.
  6. Remove from heat and serve hot over rice or noodles, garnished with sesame seeds or chopped green onions if desired.

Notes

If you'd like to substitute, chicken or tofu work just as well. Avoid overcrowding the pan for the best sear.
