  • 1 pound beef strips (sirloin or flank steak) Opt for meats that absorb flavor well.
  • 2 cups rice (brown or white) Cook according to package instructions.
  • 1 medium bell pepper (red or green, sliced) Adds crunch and flavor.
  • 1 medium onion (sliced)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced) Enhances flavor.
  • 3-4 tablespoons soy sauce For flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil For cooking the beef.
  • to taste salt and pepper For seasoning.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cook the rice according to package instructions until fluffy.
  2. Season beef strips with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat with vegetable oil.
Cooking
  1. Add the beef strips to the skillet and sear for 3-4 minutes until browned but not fully cooked. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add sliced onions and bell peppers. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until tender.
  3. Add minced garlic and cooked beef back to the skillet. Pour in the soy sauce and stir everything together. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the beef is cooked through.
Serving
  1. Place a scoop of rice in a bowl, top with the beef and pepper mixture, and add any desired toppings.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days or freeze for up to three months. Reheat in microwave or skillet.
