  • 1 lb beef (sirloin or flank steak), thinly sliced Choose a good cut of beef for tenderness.
  • 2 cups cooked rice (white or brown) Freshly cooked rice absorbs flavors better.
  • 1 unit bell pepper (red, yellow, or green), sliced Adds color and crunch.
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce For seasoning.
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil For cooking the beef.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Enhances flavor.
  • to taste unit salt and pepper Season according to preference.
Optional Toppings
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions For garnish.
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds For added crunch.
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro To add freshness.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Gather and prepare your ingredients. Slice the beef against the grain for maximum tenderness and cut your bell pepper into strips.
Cooking
  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the sliced beef and season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until it’s browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add the sliced bell pepper. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until they’re slightly softened but still vibrant and crunchy.
  4. Return the cooked beef to the pan and pour in the soy sauce. Stir everything together to coat the beef and peppers in the savory sauce.
  5. In bowls, layer your cooked rice and then top with the beef and pepper mixture. Garnish with any optional toppings you like for extra flavor.

Notes

If you have leftovers, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 3-4 days. Can also be frozen.
