Method
Cooking the Beef
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Stir frequently to break it up until fully cooked, about 5 to 7 minutes.
- Once the beef is cooked, sprinkle in the cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Stir well and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Add black beans and salsa to the beef mixture. Stir until well combined and let cook for a few more minutes.
Assembling the Burritos
- Remove the skillet from heat and set out your flour tortillas.
- Scoop a generous portion of the beef and bean mixture into the center of each tortilla.
- Sprinkle a handful of shredded cheese over the filling.
- Fold in the sides of the tortilla and tightly roll from the bottom to enclose the filling.
Finishing Touches
- For a crispy burrito, sear the rolled burritos in the same skillet for 1 minute on each side until golden.
- Serve warm, topped with additional salsa, cheese, or your favorite toppings.
Notes
For a spicy kick, add sliced jalapeƱos or hot sauce. Make sure to roll tortillas tightly to avoid spillage.
