Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner alternative.
  • 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed Feel free to add more beans for a vegetarian option.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Use your preferred cheese type.
  • 1 cup salsa Choose your favorite salsa variety.
  • 4 large flour tortillas Ensure they are pliable for wrapping.
Spices
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Method

Cooking the Beef
  1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Stir frequently to break it up until fully cooked, about 5 to 7 minutes.
  2. Once the beef is cooked, sprinkle in the cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Stir well and cook for another 2 minutes.
  3. Add black beans and salsa to the beef mixture. Stir until well combined and let cook for a few more minutes.
Assembling the Burritos
  1. Remove the skillet from heat and set out your flour tortillas.
  2. Scoop a generous portion of the beef and bean mixture into the center of each tortilla.
  3. Sprinkle a handful of shredded cheese over the filling.
  4. Fold in the sides of the tortilla and tightly roll from the bottom to enclose the filling.
Finishing Touches
  1. For a crispy burrito, sear the rolled burritos in the same skillet for 1 minute on each side until golden.
  2. Serve warm, topped with additional salsa, cheese, or your favorite toppings.

Notes

For a spicy kick, add sliced jalapeƱos or hot sauce. Make sure to roll tortillas tightly to avoid spillage.
