Preparation
- Start by shredding your cooked BBQ chicken and gathering your cheese and bread. Don’t forget the butter!
Grilling
- Take a slice of bread and spread a thin layer of butter on one side. Repeat with the other slice of bread.
- Flip one slice of buttered bread upside down on a clean surface. Start layering—add the shredded BBQ chicken evenly, followed by your shredded cheese.
- Carefully place the second slice of bread on top, buttered side facing out.
- Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Gently place your sandwich in the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes or until the bottom is beautifully golden and the cheese starts to melt.
- With a spatula, carefully flip the sandwich over. Cook another 3-4 minutes, until the opposite side is golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.
- Once both sides are golden and crispy, remove the sandwich from the skillet, slice it in half, and serve warm!
Notes
Experiment with different types of bread and cheese for a unique twist. For extra flavor, try adding sliced avocado or jalapeños inside.
