- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the casserole.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef or turkey, breaking it apart with a spatula. Once browned, drain any excess fat.
- Add the diced onion and bell pepper to the skillet with the meat. Cook until softened, about 3-5 minutes.
- Stir in the barbecue sauce and cooked pasta until everything is well combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Pour the mixture into a greased casserole dish and spread evenly. Top with shredded cheese to create a bubbly, golden crust.
- Place the dish in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and slightly golden.
- Remove the casserole from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. If desired, garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage. Reheat in the oven at 350°F or microwave individual servings until hot.
