Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 3 pieces ripe bananas, sliced Choose perfectly ripe bananas for maximum flavor.
  • 1 can crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional) Can be replaced with pecans or left out for a nut-free version.
Toppings
  • 1 cup whipped cream, for serving
  • 1 cups maraschino cherries, for topping
  • to taste tablespoons chocolate syrup, for drizzling

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  3. Evenly distribute the sliced bananas and crushed pineapple at the bottom of the prepared dish.
  4. Sprinkle the chocolate cake mix over the fruit layer without mixing.
  5. Pour the melted butter evenly over the cake mix.
  6. Sprinkle chocolate chips and walnuts (if using) on top.
Baking
  1. Bake in the oven for about 35-40 minutes, or until the cake is golden and cooked through.
  2. Allow it to cool for a few minutes before serving.
Serving
  1. Serve warm with whipped cream, maraschino cherries, and a generous drizzle of chocolate syrup.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat in the microwave or enjoy cold. Freezing portions is also an option for future enjoyment.
