Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 box vanilla wafers
  • 4 pieces ripe bananas, sliced Use fresh and ripe bananas for optimal sweetness.
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 box instant vanilla pudding mix
  • to taste whipped cream for topping Optional; top with additional banana slices if desired.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth.
  2. In another bowl, prepare the instant vanilla pudding mix according to the package instructions, using 3 cups of milk. Mix well until it thickens.
  3. Fold the cream cheese mixture into the prepared pudding until it’s well blended.
Layering
  1. In a serving dish, start by layering vanilla wafers on the bottom.
  2. Add a layer of banana slices followed by a layer of the cream cheese-pudding mixture.
  3. Repeat the layering until all ingredients are used.
Topping and Chilling
  1. Top the dish with whipped cream and, if desired, additional banana slices.
  2. Refrigerate for a few hours to allow the flavors to meld before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 3-4 days. For best texture, assemble layers just before serving to keep the wafers from getting too soggy.
