Ingredients
  

Wet Ingredients
  • 2 pieces ripe bananas, mashed Make sure they are nice and ripe with some brown spots.
  • 1 cup almond milk (or any milk) Can substitute with oat, soy, or regular milk.
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Optional Mix-ins
  • chocolate chips, nuts, or dried fruit Add as desired for extra flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  3. In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth, then mix in almond milk, honey (or maple syrup), and vanilla extract until creamy.
  4. In another bowl, combine rolled oats, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until thick batter forms. Fold in any mix-ins.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
Baking
  1. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until edges are golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  2. Allow to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into squares.

Notes

For perfect bars, ensure bananas are very ripe, keep an eye on baking time, and feel free to customize with toppings.
