  • 2 pieces ripe bananas, mashed Overripe bananas are best for sweetness.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can substitute with whole wheat flour for a different texture.
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup milk Can be substituted with plant-based milk for a vegan option.
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon butter For the glaze.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a doughnut pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine mashed bananas, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
  5. Spoon the batter into the prepared doughnut pan, filling each cavity about halfway.
Baking
  1. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  2. While the doughnuts cool, melt the butter in a saucepan and stir in the chocolate chips until smooth.
Glazing and Serving
  1. Dip the tops of the cooled doughnuts into the chocolate glaze and place on a wire rack to set.
  2. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for a month. To reheat, microwave for 10-15 seconds or warm in an oven at 350°F (175°C).
