  • 2 ripe bananas 2 ripe bananas Mashed until smooth.
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup 1 cup sugar Granulated sugar.
  • 1/2 teaspoon 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup 1 cup all-purpose flour Can substitute half with whole wheat flour.
  • 1/2 teaspoon 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional) Fold into the batter for added chocolate flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
  3. Add the melted butter, sugar, vanilla extract, and eggs to the mashed bananas. Mix until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Slowly add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. If using, fold the chocolate chips into the batter.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing out the top with a spatula.
Baking
  1. Place the pan in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  3. Cut into squares and enjoy!

Notes

Store brownies in an airtight container for up to 3 days. They freeze well for up to 3 months. To reheat, microwave for 10-15 seconds or bake at 350°F for 5-10 minutes.
