Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
- Add the melted butter, sugar, vanilla extract, and eggs to the mashed bananas. Mix until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Slowly add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- If using, fold the chocolate chips into the batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing out the top with a spatula.
Baking
- Place the pan in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Cut into squares and enjoy!
Notes
Store brownies in an airtight container for up to 3 days. They freeze well for up to 3 months. To reheat, microwave for 10-15 seconds or bake at 350°F for 5-10 minutes.
