  • 2 cups Fresh strawberries, halved Use ripe, in-season strawberries for the best flavor.
  • 1 cup Mozzarella balls, preferably cherry or pearl Fresh mozzarella is best; crumbled feta can be used as a substitute.
  • 1 cup Fresh basil leaves, loosely packed Add more for a stronger basil flavor.
  • to taste Balsamic glaze Adjust to your taste; you might like a more generous drizzle.
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • to taste Salt and pepper Use freshly cracked pepper for best flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Rinse the strawberries under cold water, hull them, and slice them in half.
  2. In a large serving bowl or platter, layer the sliced strawberries and mozzarella balls, alternating them for visual appeal.
  3. Tuck in fresh basil leaves between the strawberries and mozzarella for a pop of color and flavor.
  4. Drizzle the olive oil and balsamic glaze over the top of the salad. Season it with a pinch of salt and freshly cracked pepper.
  5. Gently toss the salad to mix the flavors, and serve immediately to enjoy the freshness.

Notes

Storing leftovers: Place in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1-2 days. Best consumed the same day. Reheating not recommended.
