Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb carrots, peeled and sliced into sticks
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional) Ensure honey is halal-certified if included.

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by washing and peeling your carrots. Slice them into sticks of equal size (around 1/4-1/2 inch thick) for even cooking.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and honey (if using).
  3. Add the sliced carrots to the bowl and toss them until evenly coated in the marinade.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place the marinated carrots in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for about 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking.
  3. After 15 minutes, check the carrots for tenderness. If you prefer them softer, let them cook for a few more minutes until they reach your desired consistency.
  4. Once cooked, transfer the carrots to a serving dish. Drizzle with additional balsamic vinegar if desired, and enjoy!

Notes

Substitutions: If you're out of balsamic vinegar, try using apple cider vinegar. You can also swap honey for maple syrup for a vegan option. Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket to achieve the best texture.
