Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Sifted
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted) Make sure it’s not too hot
  • 1 cup brown sugar (packed) Add extra for a sweeter taste
  • 2 large eggs At room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract Pure vanilla preferred
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder For leavening
  • 1/4 tsp salt Balances sweetness
  • 1 cup chocolate chips or nuts Optional, for added flavor

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and packed brown sugar until well blended. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, folding gently until combined.
  4. If desired, fold in chocolate chips or nuts to the batter.
Baking
  1. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top evenly.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Cooling and Serving
  1. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
  2. Once cooled, cut into squares and serve. Enjoy!

Notes

For best results, don't overmix the batter and check for doneness early. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to five days or frozen for up to three months.
