Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 pieces cube steaks Tenderized beef cuts
  • 1 cup flour For coating
  • to taste salt and pepper For seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil For searing
  • 1 cup beef broth For the gravy
  • 1 cup cream of mushroom soup For adding creaminess to the sauce
  • to taste onion powder and garlic powder Optional, for extra flavor

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Ensure you have a baking dish ready to go.
  2. In a shallow dish, mix flour with salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder.
  3. Dredge each cube steak in the seasoned flour until fully coated.
Cooking
  1. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steaks, searing them for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  2. Transfer the seared steaks to the baking dish.
  3. In the same skillet, mix beef broth, cream of mushroom soup, and any remaining flour seasoning. Stir well to combine and let simmer for a couple of minutes.
  4. Pour the gravy mixture over the cube steaks, ensuring they are nicely covered.
  5. Cover with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the steaks are tender.
  6. Once done, take out of the oven, serve hot, and watch everyone delight in each delicious bite!

Notes

For best results, season flour generously, don’t skip the searing process, and watch the timing to avoid overcooking. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
