  • 12 pieces fresh figs
  • 6 oz goat cheese
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • ¼ cup chopped walnuts or pecans Optional topping
  • to taste Fresh thyme Optional, for garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Wash the figs and slice them in half lengthwise.
  3. Spoon goat cheese into each fig half, allowing it to overflow a bit.
  4. Place stuffed figs cut-side up on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and sprinkle chopped nuts on top, if desired.
  5. Drizzle honey and balsamic vinegar over the figs.
Baking
  1. Bake for 15-20 minutes until soft and the goat cheese is golden and bubbly.
  2. Remove from the oven and optionally sprinkle fresh thyme on top before serving.

Notes

For substitutions, dried figs can be used; adjust baking time as needed. Avoid overfilling the figs with cheese.
