Ingredients

Chicken Preparation
  • 2 lbs Chicken pieces (preferably drumsticks or thighs)
  • ½ cup Hot honey (store-bought or homemade)
Breading Station
  • 1 cup Bread crumbs (can use panko for extra crunch)
  • 1 large Egg (beaten)
  • 1 cup Flour (seasoned with salt and pepper)
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • ½ tsp Pepper
  • 1 tsp Paprika (for that extra depth of flavor)
  • 2 tbsp Oil for baking (about)

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Set up a three-step breading station: Mix flour with salt, pepper, and paprika in one bowl, beat the egg in another bowl, and add bread crumbs in a third bowl.
  3. Dip each chicken piece first into the flour mixture, then into the beaten egg, and finally coat it in the bread crumbs, pressing lightly.
  4. Arrange the coated chicken pieces on a greased baking sheet, spaced out for even cooking.
  5. Lightly drizzle the breaded chicken with oil.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the exterior is golden.
  7. Drizzle hot honey over the baked chicken just before serving.

Notes

If using different bread crumbs, feel free to substitute with crushed cornflakes or gluten-free options. Let the chicken rest for at least 5 minutes after baking, and ensure there's space on the baking sheet to avoid steaming.
