Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). A hot oven is crucial for that beautiful golden finish.
  2. Lightly grease an oven-safe dish with olive oil or butter to ensure the baked eggs won’t stick.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the cottage cheese, eggs, shredded cheese, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder if using.
  4. Transfer the creamy mixture into the prepared baking dish, ensuring it’s evenly spread out.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Once out of the oven, let it cool for about 5 minutes, then sprinkle with fresh herbs before serving.

Notes

For a creamier texture, substitute cottage cheese with ricotta. You can also add cooked vegetables like spinach or bell peppers.
