Ingredients

For the Chicken Nuggets
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces Use chicken breasts for a leaner option.
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs, preferably Panko for extra crunch Feel free to experiment with whole wheat breadcrumbs or seasoned varieties.
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 large egg, beaten Helps the coating stick.
  • Cooking spray or oil, for greasing the baking sheet

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). This ensures a perfectly crispy coating.
  2. In a large bowl, combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well to create your seasoned coating.
  3. Dip each piece of chicken into the beaten egg, allowing excess egg to drip off. Then, coat the chicken in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing firmly to ensure the coating sticks.
  4. Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray or lightly brush it with oil. Place the coated chicken nuggets in a single layer on the sheet, making sure they’re not touching.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until they are golden brown and cooked through, flipping halfway through for an even bake.
Serving
  1. Once cooked, serve your delightful nuggets with your favorite dipping sauces or sides!

Notes

To ensure success, don’t overcrowd the baking sheet; this helps each nugget crisp up beautifully. For storage, keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10-15 minutes.
