Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 wheel wheel of Brie cheese
  • 2 pieces ripe pears, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon butter for sautéing pears
  • 1 baguette baguette, sliced for crostini
  • Fresh rosemary or thyme (optional)
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add in the sliced pears and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until soft and slightly caramelized. Drizzle the honey over the pears and stir for another minute. Set aside.
  3. Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet. Brush each slice lightly with oil or melted butter and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Bake for about 8-10 minutes or until golden and crisp.
Baking and Serving
  1. Place the wheel of Brie in a baking dish. Top it with sautéed pears and drizzle remaining honey from the skillet over the top. If using herbs, sprinkle over the pears.
  2. Bake in the oven for about 10-15 minutes until wonderfully soft and gooey.
  3. Remove from oven and let sit for a few minutes. Serve warm with crostini for dipping.

Notes

For substitutions, if Brie isn’t available, use Camembert or another soft cheese. Avoid using unripe pears for the best flavor.
