Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add in the sliced pears and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until soft and slightly caramelized. Drizzle the honey over the pears and stir for another minute. Set aside.
- Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet. Brush each slice lightly with oil or melted butter and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Bake for about 8-10 minutes or until golden and crisp.
Baking and Serving
- Place the wheel of Brie in a baking dish. Top it with sautéed pears and drizzle remaining honey from the skillet over the top. If using herbs, sprinkle over the pears.
- Bake in the oven for about 10-15 minutes until wonderfully soft and gooey.
- Remove from oven and let sit for a few minutes. Serve warm with crostini for dipping.
Notes
For substitutions, if Brie isn’t available, use Camembert or another soft cheese. Avoid using unripe pears for the best flavor.
