  • 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 Jalapeños, chopped Adjust for spice level
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • ½ tsp Pepper
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs for coating
  • as needed Oil for frying

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, and the chopped jalapeños.
  2. Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well incorporated.
  3. Using your hands, scoop about a tablespoon of the mixture and roll it into a ball. Repeat until all the mixture is used, placing the balls on a baking sheet.
  4. Roll each ball in breadcrumbs to coat evenly, ensuring each one is fully covered.
Cooking
  1. In a deep pan, heat oil over medium heat. Carefully drop the cheese balls into the hot oil in batches and fry until golden brown (about 3-4 minutes).
  2. Using a slotted spoon, remove the cheese balls and place them on a paper towel to drain off excess oil.
  3. Let them cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Adjust the spice level by varying the amount of jalapeños. Use fresh or panko breadcrumbs for desired texture. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze before frying for up to 3 months.
