For Assembly
  • 8 pieces taco shells Crunchy or soft shells based on preference.
  • 2 cups lettuce, chopped Fresh for topping.
  • 1 cup tomato, diced Adds freshness.
  • 1 cup cheese, shredded Cheddar or Mexican blend works well.
  • 1 cup sour cream For a creamy finish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onions and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute until fragrant.
  4. Increase heat to medium-high and add ground beef, cooking until browned (about 5-7 minutes), breaking it into crumbles.
  5. Stir in chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper; mix until beef is well coated. Cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  6. While beef cooks, warm taco shells according to package instructions.
  7. Assemble tacos by filling each shell with the seasoned beef and topping with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and sour cream.
  8. Serve immediately while warm.

Notes

For a leaner option, use ground turkey or chicken. Do not overcrowd the skillet to achieve good browning of the meat. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
