Ingredients

For the filling
  • 2 large flour tortillas For the taco shell
  • 2 cups apples, peeled and sliced Use your favorite variety of apples
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar Adjust sweetness to taste
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon Spice to bring out apple flavor
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice Prevents apples from browning and adds tartness
For garnish
  • 1/4 cup granola For added crunch
  • to taste Whipped cream Optional topping

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by peeling and slicing the apples into thin pieces. The thinner they are, the quicker they'll cook.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the sliced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Stir well until the apples are evenly coated.
Cooking
  1. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the apple mixture and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally until the apples are tender but still hold their shape. Remove from heat.
  2. In the same skillet or microwave, warm the flour tortillas for about 15 seconds until they are flexible and soft.
Assembling
  1. Spoon a generous amount of the cooked apple filling onto each tortilla and fold them in half, securing the filling inside.
  2. Top your tacos with granola for a crunchy bite and a dollop of whipped cream for that extra indulgent touch.
Serving
  1. Enjoy your Apple Pie Tacos warm as a delightful dessert that is sure to impress!

Notes

Feel free to use whole wheat tortillas or gluten-free alternatives. For firmer apples, reduce cooking time, and for softer apples, cook a little longer. Ensure tortillas are warmed before filling to prevent tearing.
