Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Toss until the apples are well coated.
- Roll out the pie crust on a floured surface until it’s about 1/8 inch thick, or fit the store-bought crust into your pie pan.
- Pour the apple mixture into the prepared pie crust.
- Dot the apple mixture with small pieces of butter.
- Cover with another pie crust and cut slits into the top crust.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
- Let the pie cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
For enhancing flavor, opt for a mix of sweet and tart apples. Pre-bake the bottom crust for 10 minutes to avoid sogginess. Store leftovers covered for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes.
