Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples and pears. Make sure they are evenly mixed.
- In another bowl, combine rolled oats, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Pour the melted butter into the mixture and stir until everything is well combined and crumbly.
- Spread the apple and pear mixture evenly in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Evenly distribute the oat topping over the fruit.
Baking
- Bake the crisp in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the fruit is bubbly.
- Allow it to cool for a few minutes before serving warm. It’s best enjoyed with a side of Halal vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
Feel free to substitute fruits based on the season or personal preference. For a healthier option, consider using almond flour or coconut oil.
