  • 2 whole apples, diced Use firm, juicy apples for best texture.
  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, cubed Can substitute with feta or goat cheese.
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
Dressing Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice Additional lemon can be added to prevent browning.
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Wash and dice the apples into bite-sized pieces, and chop the celery and walnuts.
  2. Cube the cheddar cheese.
Mixing the Dressing
  1. In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise and lemon juice. Mix well to create a creamy dressing.
Combine the Salad
  1. In a large bowl, add the diced apples, chopped celery, cubed cheddar cheese, and chopped walnuts.
Dress the Salad
  1. Pour the mayonnaise dressing over the salad ingredients and gently toss to combine.
Finishing Touches
  1. Add salt and pepper as desired, and give it one last gentle mix.
  2. Serve immediately or chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes for flavors to meld.

Notes

Best served fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days. To keep apples from browning, add a little extra lemon juice.
